Nest gameplay prototype

By on March 24, 2013

New prototype is available for play.

Use 1 or 2 to choose an inventory item you want to use.
Then use the chosen inventory item by clicking “q”.

There is only food in inventory right now that can be used to feed bird babies. When a baby bird have been given enough food it grows up to a big bird and follows you further.

If you are running out of health choose some food from inventory and click “e”.

When flying big birds follow you and can be used to expand the territory. Find an available island (or kill the bird that occupies it) and click “n” to place your nest. When placing a nest one of the big birds will be placed in it in order to guard the island.

Feed new babies and you’ll have more birds to play with.

Interesting concept! If conquering others’ nests/islands is a key part, I’m imagining various amusing power-ups.. inverse bird strike (renegade airplanes targeting enemy islands), scarecrows (“turrets” defending nests), bird flu (DPS over an area), birdies (golf ball howitzer), annoying seagulls (opponent’s viewport obscured with seagull droppings, horrible screeching sounds) etc. All, of course, with Surfin’ Bird as soundtrack. Keep up the good work!
